Mike Bell is the newest member of Redbridge Rotary Club and on May 16 he gave the members an insight into his life.

On March 11, nine Rotary Club of Redbridge Members flew to Holland at the invitation of our twinned club, the Metropolitan Rotary Club of The Hague. From the moment of our arrival, every minute was crammed with interest and excitement.

We saw a lot, learnt a lot, dined well and had great fun. The highlight was a grand dinner in aid of the charity ‘Power for Peace’ on Saturday night, held in our hotel, which was both enjoyable and very successful. But nothing could compete with the warmth, friendship and hospitality of the members of the Metropolitan Club. We thank them and hope they will give us the pleasure of visiting us soon.

Kelvin Ha loves his job; his enthusiasm, fervor and passion shines through as was abundantly obvious when he came to talk to the members on May 9. Kelvin is a senior team leader for ELHAP - a magical and unique charity, providing adventure play opportunities to disabled and disadvantaged children, young people and adults.

Kelvin worked as a volunteer for ELHAP when he was a student at Ilford County High School and enjoyed it so much, that he came back to it after he finished his university studies and has been involved for the past seven years.

Situated in Roding Lane North, ELHAP attracts over 8,500 visits from across North East London and Essex each year and is of great benefit to local families. On Sunday June 25, to celebrate their 40th anniversary, ELHAP are organising a family fun day and sponsored walk – for further information please contact racheljoseph@elhap.org.uk
