Fire crews were called to a disused building in Straford after a blaze broke out on an upper floor.

Firefighters were called to the property, in Warton Road, near the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, at around 1.30pm this afternoon (Tuesday, May 23).

Four fire engines and 21 London Fire Brigade crew members were dispatched to the scene, where a fire had started on the third floor of the building.

Crews from Stratford, Poplar, Homerton and Bethnal Green fire stations brought the blaze under control by around 2.20pm.

The third floor of the building was damaged in the fire, the cause of which is now under investigation.
