Police have secured warrants to detain four terror suspects for a further week after string of raids in east London.

The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command secured a new warrant to keep the men in custody for questioning at a south London police station until May 31.

The suspects, ages 18, 24, 25 and 27 were all arrested during raids across east London on the morning of Wednesday, May 17.

All four were detained on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism and remain in custody at a south London police station.

Officers also searched five residential addresses in east London as well as a business address in the area.

Arrests were pre-planned as part of an ongoing investigation by the Counter Terrorism Command and MI5 and are linked to activity in the UK.

Police said the swoop has no connection to the Manchester Arena bombing, which killed 23 people and injured more than 100 others after a concert on Monday evening.
