Schoolchildren took part in a world record-breaking walk to raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

Pupils from Buxton Primary School in Leytonstone joined hundreds of thousands of other children across the UK by going for a walk in the countryside.

The walk, which took place on Wanstead Flats last Friday (May 26), helped break the Guinness World Record for the most people walking at the same time in an organised event.

Buxton School also raided £812.62 for their chosen charity, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Head of primary phase, Jackie Bowers-Broadbent said: “Buxton School are delighted to support this worthwhile cause.

“It was fantastic to break the Guinness World Record whilst also raising money for the WWF.”
