Kyle Langford saw off his competition at the Brighton British Milers Club 800m on Wednesday evening.
The Watford-born athlete took first place in a time of 1.47.57.
He fended off his competitors to cross the line first with Elliot Giles only 0.12 seconds behind.
Giles clocked a time of 1.47.69 ahead of Spencer Thomas and Sean Malloy who crossed the line in 1.48.35 and 1.48.66 respectively.
This result came after the 21-year-old had finished at the back of the field at a race in Belgium despite running quicker.
Langford took part in the IFAM outdoor event at Oordegem-Lede last Friday, and finished eighth overall in the 800m in a time of 1.46.56.
Kenyan Willy Tarbei who won the race in 1.45.34.
The previous week at the USTAF Distance Classic, Langford managed to record a top-two finish in slower time than he clocked in Belgium.
He finished the event in 1.46.77 to come second.
