The E17 designers are back for another year with their summer market.

During the E17 Art Trail, Walthamstow, the designers will be at Mirth, in Hoe Street, on Saturday, June 10, where they will be offering fresh homemade cocktail or craft ale while an array of artists and designer-makers showcase their fashion, handmade bags, jewellery, prints and more.

Designer Suzie Cakes will be selling Walthamstow Wild Card Brewery Beer Mustard and her secret recipe bakes from the ticket booth. Other regulars will include D4Discus, Gail’s Windy Day, Stacey Hall, Malcolm Morris, as well as new designers Shoorah Shoorah, Lucy Welton Studio, Brass and Bold and Worlds in Between.

The makers have been taking inspiration from this year’s Art Trail, where more than 7,000 people will be taking part in the 16 day free festival during June.

This year there is a focus on STEM subjects including science, technology, art and maths. Artists have been collaborating with academics at Queen Mary University of London, University College London and Birkbeck University to bring new technologies and a talks programme to the festival that explores painting with light and connections in the area to early coding.

Many of the projects will go on to be showcased at festivals and exhibited elsewhere over the summer, including the Walthamstow Garden Party and the Barbican Centre.

The E17 Designers are also taking over Stow Brothers Estate Agent, in Hoe Street, where there will be an exhibition of selected designers during the Art Trail fortnight. They will be set up in the Stow Brothers’ estate agents office, with a variety of handmade products on show.
