TWO MEN from Ilford and another from Highams Park are due in court today charged with illegal cock-fighting.
Mohammed Asab, 50, of Water Lane, Ilford, Mohamed Arif, 43, of Fairfield Road, Ilford, and Mehtab Ahmed, 41, of Celebration Way, Highams Park, will face magistrates in Barkingside today (June 8).
They are among a gang of three others, and a 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, accused of taking part in a cock-fight at Mr Asab’s home in Ilford on January 2 this year.
Mr Asab has also been charged with five other animal cruelty offences, which violate the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
The men have not yet indicated how they will plea in court and will appear alongside Akhtar Hussain, 50, of Greenhill Grove, Manor Park, and Altaf Hussain, 54, of Coventry.
