A MAN is in hospital with “life-changing” injuries after a shooting at a notorious party venue.
Reports of a shooting at Praba Banqueting Suite in High Road, Ilford, were handed to officers at Ilford Police Station at around 6.20am on Tuesday (June 6).
The man told the police that shots were fired at the end of a 40th birthday party there.
When they went to investigate they could not find anyone injured, but later learned that a 22-year-old man was in hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Doctors claim his injuries are not life-threatening, but could be life-changing.
The Met Police’s gang squad, the Trident and area crime command, are now investigating.
Praba Banqueting Suite has been shut down by police several times in the past six months and licensing officers have warned the venue is “attracting gangs from across London”.
Any witnesses or anyone with information should call the Trident east reactive unit on 0208 217 7374 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.
