The family of a victim of the terror that devastated London Bridge has paid tribute to their “marvellous son” and “perfect older brother”.

Alexandre Pigeard, 26, a French national, was working on the terrace of a restaurant when a terrorist stabbed him to death.

The Metropolitan Police today confirmed Alexandre was one of the eight people killed in the senseless violence late on Saturday.

Paying tribute, Scotland Yard released a statement on behalf of Alexandre's family: "Alexandre Pigeard, born on July 29 1990 in Paris, died on Saturday June 3 2017 in London.

"He was killed during the terrorist attack at Borough Market. One of the killers fatally stabbed him whilst he was working on the terrace of the restaurant where he had been an employee for nine months.

"Alexandre was a marvellous son, a perfect older brother and a radiant young man much loved by all who had the good fortune to meet him. All his friends praised his kindness, his good humour and his generosity.

"Alexandre was passionate about electronic music and a member of "Club 808", a group of DJs based in Caen (Calvados).

"The family only wish to communicate the information contained in this statement. They ask the media to fully respect their time to grieve and to cease all morbid and inappropriate inquiries regarding this tragically cruel and unjust loss."

Specially trained family liaison officers are supporting his family.
