STUDENTS will rock out on the stage as they perform an iconic musical.

Teenagers from Epping St John School have been gearing up for their production of School of Rock.

They were inspired to take up the project after director of learning, Sarah Viccars, went to see the show with her family.

The performance made her "laugh and cry".

She said: "I was blown away by the talent these children showcased in the West End and I left desperate to perform this at Epping St John's.

"I knew I had the right team to help me bring this to life."

The students aged 11 to 15-years-old performed the show Tuesday and Wednesday night for members of the public, teachers and their parents.

Year 8 pupil Will Maiden said: "During this show the whole cast has grown in confidence and has really inspired us to continue with future productions."

Marley Chick, in Year 8, said: "Doing this play has not just helped me with my drama skills it has opened my eyes to a new kind of music.

"This has been an emazing experience and I am so grateful to be a part of it. This has not only made friends we have become a family.”
