One of the oldest model flying clubs in the world is letting the public take to the skies over Epping Forest.

The Chingford Model Flying Club is holding an open day on the Chingford Plains this Saturday (July 1).

Anyone can try flying one of the model aircrafts under dual control with an experienced instructor from 12pm to 6pm, weather permitting.

Rain or high winds will likely to postpone the fun.

While guests will be flying special training aircraft, there will also be on-going displays of other models handled by club members

To get there from Bury Road car park, walk towards the forest, take a right and walk along the footpath where you will find the flying field.
