It appears there is a light at the end of the tunnel as Leyton Orient's takeover edges closer as Francesco Becchetti looks to move on after a turbulent three-years in charge of the clubs
It is understood, Nigel Travis, who is the chief executive of Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins , along with a consortium, but not fan led as first reported, are set to take charge of the east London Club.
Travis is a life-long O's fan and there has been speculation for some time he has wanted to buy the club.
And it looks as though he will be the man to take E10 out of their current plight.
Becchetti first bought Orient in 2014 from then owner Barry Hearn just after they were one spot kick away from the Championship.
Since then, the club and the O's faithful have endured two relegations in three seasons with the latest ending their time of 112-years in the Football League.
In March, Orient were handed a winding-up petition from HMRC over an unpaid tax bill believed to be around £125,000 to £250,000.
The Italian has since paid that bill and the other petitioning creditors before the High Court date last Monday.
Stewarding company Centre Circle Events Management, as well as the London Borough of Waltham Forest Council, were paid in full with others also being paid last Friday.
However, it is believed there are still some outstanding creditors to be paid.
But with the takeover deal inching that little bit closer, it seems good times may return to east London yet.
