A TEENAGER walked free from court after his alleged victim decided not to turn up because he had an exam.

Malick Baki-Williams, of Tudor Road, Chingford, was due to stand trial for assault and theft at Stratford Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, June 21).

The 18-year-old was accused of stealing a fellow teen’s car keys and attacking him on April 9 in Sewardstone Road.

But when the alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, failed to turn up to the hearing because of an A Level exam, the case was dismissed and Mr Baki-Williams was cleared of all charges.

His family cried with happiness as they left the courtroom.
