ONE woman’s baking skills have raised nearly £6,000 for a children’s hospice.

Michelle Vanlint held her 12th annual Big Tea Par-Tea at home in Derby Road, South Woodford in aid of Haven House Children’s Hospice last Friday (June 16).

Sponsored by Posner Interiors and Schmidt Kitchens, her day of cakes and Pimms will pay for a whole day of care at the Woodford Green hospice.

She said: “Baking gives me such joy and knowing that I’m raising money for Haven House is the ultimate icing on the cake.

“The hospice does really important work for children and families in the local area and a Big Tea Part-Tea is a really great way to fundraise.

“Each year it seems to get bigger and bigger, and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves on the day.”

The hospice’s community fundraiser Ginny Donnelly thanked Michelle for all her hard work.

She said: “Michelle has raised enough money to pay for a day of care at our hospice, which is a wonderful gift to the children and families we support.

“A Part-Tea is a brilliant way to support our vital work. As long as there are cakes on the table, tea in the pot and friends in the room you have everything you need to host one.”
