A POLICE chase ended up in a crash after the van they were following failed to stop.
Just after 3am on Saturday (June 24) police asked a van to pull over near the Green Man Roundabout in Leytonstone.
When the van drove off, officers chased it down Hollybush Hill until it crashed into a car outside The Eagle pub in Woodford Road, damaging a telecoms box nearby.
The driver escaped and despite a search of the area, police were unable to find them
Neighbours reported hearing police helicopters circling the area and seeing police vans surrounding Snaresbrook Station in the early hours.
The driver of the car that was hit was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. A Met Police spokesman also confirmed its Directorate of Professional Standards has been consulted over the crash.
