ONE person has died after a fire broke out in a first-floor flat.
The incident happened in a block of flats in Parkhill Road, Chingford shortly before 7.30am this morning (Wednesday, July 5).
The deceased person was found by fire crews in the flat wearing an oxygen mask and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Six fire engines attended and the fire was under control shortly after 9am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
