FIVE people escaped after a restaurant’s extractor fan caught fire.
Fire fighters were called to Otto in Wanstead High Street just after 12pm today (Monday, July 17) to reports of a blaze.
When they got there they found “100 per cent of the extraction system” was on fire, affecting the restaurant on the ground floor and the two flats above.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said it treated three people for smoke inhalation. Five adults managed to escape the building before they arrived.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
