Overnight thunderstorms swept through London bringing with it heavy rain, hail, and frequent lightning.
More than 150,000 lightning strikes were recorded across the UK in 12 hours.
Alastair Hall braved the conditions to capture the bright bursts of lightning over Leytonstone.
