A zumbathon will be held to raise much-needed cash for a charity that provides baby essentials to needy families.

The Lloyd Park Children’s Charity has launched an appeal to raise £30,000 to ensure its baby bank can continue to meet the needs of the community.

The charity set up in 1982 established the baby bank three years ago and has helped hundreds of families in Waltham Forest through referrals from support agencies and health professionals.

The dance event will be held at a family fun day in Higham Hill Hub, Hecham Close, Walthamstow on Saturday, July 29.

It will run from 10am to 4.30pm and will include children’s activities and a BBQ.

Pauline Thomas, CEO of the charity, said: “Our baby bank could help so many more families in Waltham Forest. It has the potential to protect children from the impact of poverty and stress in what should be the most joyful time with a new baby”.
