A man has been charged after two men were doused in acid and left with “life-changing” injuries.
Rahad Hussain, 23, was charged on Friday July 28 after the attack in Roman Road, Bethnal Green on Tuesday July 25.
Hussain, who is homeless, was charged with two counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of possession of an offensive weapon, namely a bottle of acid.
The victims, aged 23 and 24, flagged down a passing police car and were hosed down before being taken to hospital.
Hussain appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday July 29. He gave no indication of a plea.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday August 29.
