A treasured OBE medal was taken during a raid on a home.
Police were called to Avenue Road, Theydon Bois, after a break-in at a property at around 9.30pm on Sunday, July 2.
A suspect was able to force entry into the house and conducted a messy search once inside.
Among other stolen items was an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) medal. The recognisable award features a gold cross attached to a light red or pink ribbon.
It has the image of the head of King George V with the words “For God and the Empire” around the centre of the medal.
Police said the award holds significant sentimental value to its owner.
