Staff at a nursery were left speechless after inspectors found it to be ‘outstanding’ in all four categories of its first school report.

Ofsted found little wrong at Chingford Pre-School and Day Nursery, in Station Road, Chingford, after an inspection in early July.

Inspectors gave the nursery top marks in leadership, teaching, children’s development and outcomes.

An ecstatic assistant manager, Sinead Begley said: “Words cannot express how proud we are of our team for working so hard and achieving such an amazing result on our first Ofsted inspection.”

The report highlighted the “inspirational” management, with leaders working “extremely hard” to ensure children receive high-quality care and learning experiences.

Inspectors said: “All staff have a clear vision of their own professional goals and high aspirations for children that lead to a committed and inspiring workforce.”

The nursery looks after 66 children up to the age of five, and is open every weekday from 7am to 7pm for 51 weeks a year.

It wasn’t just the staff who got praise, the children were found to “behave exceptionally well”, learning how to “share, take turns and respect each other” from an early age.

It also found pupils making “rapid progress” in their development, as the high level of care “nurtures children's love of learning”.

The report continued: “Staff know children really well. They gather detailed information from parents about what children already know and can do across all areas of learning and development.

“They use this information alongside their own observations to assess and meticulously plan for children's individual needs.”

With little left to improve, inspectors said staff should continue to “enhance the excellent opportunities for children who learn English as an additional language”.
