FIVE east Londoners have been jailed for dealing heroin and coke nearly 100 miles away in Oxfordshire.

The gang were sentenced at Oxford Crown Court for supplying drugs over a period of a year between January 2016 and January 2017 in Oxford and Abingdon.

Azad Akrawi, 23, of Pulteney Road, South Woodford admitted the charges on the first day of the trial earlier this year and was sentenced to a year and a half in prison last month (July 21).

Mohammed Mubidi, 30, of Staines Road, Ilford, pleaded guilty at the pre-trial hearing in April and was handed three years behind bars.

Dahir Sharif, 22, of Brisbane Road, Ilford, did the same and was sentenced to two years and four months.

Khalid Khalid, 24, of Mayfield Road, Goodmayes, admitted the charges on day two of the trial and got three and half years in prison.

Abubakar Abasheikh, 29, of Manford Cross, Hainault, pleaded guilty at the pre-trial hearing and was handed eight years.

He was also given four years for intent to supply cocaine after he was found with 200 grams of the drug in November last year, and eight months for having a phone in prison in February.

The judge agreed to let his sentences run concurrently, which means he will only serve eight years and eight months in jail.

They were joined in the dock by their criminal colleagues Sayid Mohamed, 27, of Oxford, Cher Busby, 42, of Abingdon, and Kaye Alderson, 34, also of Oxford.

The two women walked free after the judge agreed to suspend their sentences for two years.

Thames Valley Police’s investigating officer DC Edward Vince said: "The people sentenced today were part of an organised crime group known as the “J” line who saw fit to make profit from selling drugs in Oxford.

"Narcotics were regularly brought in across “county lines” to be sold in Oxford and Abingdon.

"I am glad that they are now off the streets and won’t be able to sell drugs.

"Officers and staff worked extremely hard to investigate and build a case against these men and women and obtain a successful conviction."
