The biggest party in Leytonstone's social calendar is returning once again next month.

Leytonstone Street Fest is hitting the streets of E11 on Sunday (September 3), promising a unique line-up of musical acts.

Focusing around the Church Lane area by the station, there will be a pop-up theatre, open mic sessions and a giant lucky dig competition.

Competitors will have to dig for victory, delving into a pile of compost to find prizes while learning more about growing fruit and vegetables.

Entry will remain free in 2017, although visitors are asked to donate what they can.

A selection of food and drink stalls will play the accompanying act to hours of live music.

The council’s organisers are keen to stress that no alcohol can be brought into the event.

Dogs are allowed inside but owners are reminded that there will be high volumes of people and loud noise all day.

The festivities will get underway at 12pm and finish by 7pm.

Anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
