TWO MEN were attacked after a fight broke out on the Tube.

It happened at around 2.50pm on Thursday (August 3) on a westbound Central Line train.

As the train stopped at Mile End Station the fight spilled out onto the platform, with one man falling to the ground and getting kicked by several attackers.

As another tried to intervene he was also assaulted, leaving him with chest injuries.

British Transport Police (BTP) would like to speak to anybody who saw the fight and who may have been travelling through from Waltham Forest, Redbridge or Epping Forest.

Investigating officer DCI Paul Langley said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was on board the train or in the Mile End station area, who may have seen or heard what happened yesterday.

“Fortunately, the man who intervened was not seriously injured. His actions in intervening in the disorder may have prevented someone else from being severely hurt.”

A 15-year-old boy from Stratford was arrested on suspicion of affray and released under investigation.

Anyone with any information should call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference number 357 3/18/17.
