A woman who set up an online marketplace to offer shoppers the chance to buy ethical products at reasonable prices is holding a pop-up shop to celebrate its first birthday.
Kate Brenneke of Walthamstow established ‘Be Good. Shop’ last year to combine her passion for all things ethical with her love of shopping.
The shop offers a wide range of homewares, accessories and gifts made around the world by fair-trade companies that are eco-conscious.
The pop-up shop will be hosted by Froth and Rind, Orford Road, Walthamstow from Friday August 11 to Sunday August 13.
“I’m so excited to be having my first pop-up to celebrate Be Good. Shop’s first birthday here in Walthamstow, where the idea began,” said Ms Brenneke.
“Walthamstow is such a great place for independent businesses with such a warm sense of community and I’m really proud to be a part of that.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting customers face-to-face and hope that they like what Be Good. Shop has to offer.”
Brass jewellery handmade in Peru, bird feeders made from recycled yoghurt pots and wristwatches crafted from bamboo in the Netherlands, are some of the many items that will be on sale.
Customers who pick up an organic cotton shopping bag from Froth and Rind will get a 20 per cent discount on all wares.
