PEOPLE worried about crime will be able to have their voices heard at a meeting next month.

Wanstead and Snaresbrook’s Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) is holding a ward panel at Wanstead House in The Green for anybody concerned about rising crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Local community support officers Alan Winston and Harjinder Singh will be on hand with SNT chairman and deputy chairman Steve Wilks and Debs Selner to offer advice and pass on any complaints.

A recent spate of car thefts has left many residents on edge, despite the Met Police’s claims the statistics for the area are not “out of the ordinary”.

With London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s plans to leave each borough with just one police station, neighbours are being urged to take advantage of SNT resources.

The proposals unveiled last month would see Woodford Police Station shut and sold off and the front counter at Barkingside closed down, leaving Ilford as the only 24-hour station in the borough.

The meeting will take place at 7pm on September 29.
