School staff have paid tribute to a “kind and considerate” history teacher, who has died following a short illness.
Joanna Coleshill had taught history and religious studies at Norlington School in Leyton for almost 20 years.
The 50-year-old, from Bow, attended Warwick University before entering the teaching profession and was part of the school’s senior leadership team.
Norlington executive principal, Juan Hernandez, said Ms Coleshill’s “professionalism and dedication” would leave a lasting legacy at the school.
He added: “Ms Coleshill was an incredibly kind and considerate person.
“She selflessly helped and guided students and staff at Norlington since 1998 and was a valued member of our Norlington family.
“Jo gave her time freely and was well known for supporting schools across the borough of Waltham Forest and beyond.
“Her professionalism and dedication will leave a lasting legacy both at Norlington and in the wider educational community. We will miss her immensely.”
