Police are investigating a six-hour fire, which broke out at a London Underground station.
Firefighters were called to Leytonstone station at around 2.40am on Saturday morning (September 2) after the alarm was raised.
Rubbish had caught alight and an internal chamber linking the eastbound and westbound tunnels, which were slightly damaged by the fire.
The blaze continued to burn for close to six hours, until it was brought under control by firefighters from Leytonstone, Leyton, Stratford and Walthamstow stations at around 8.10am on Sunday.
The Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade are now investigating the cause of the incident.
The Central line was closed from Loughton to Bethnal Green at in the early hours of Saturday morning to allow engineering work to take place at the station.
TfL refused to confirm to the Guardian Series whether workers were in the tunnel at the time the fire broke out.
