A STREET party will bring people together in a world that’s “a little bit depressing” at the minute.
People are invited to Nightingale Lane, Wanstead, for an afternoon which organisers hope will strengthen community ties.
It is being organised by Ronnie Finch, the owner of The Duke pub.
His friend, Suzi Harnett, will unleash her Jinglebop class – a music session she runs for children.
The 42-year-old, of Wellington Road, said: “It was started to bring the community closer together.
“It’s all about bringing people together in a society which is a little bit depressing at the minute. It has a fabulous festival feel to it.
“They are all about supporting local bands. It’s a good family event. They have been planning this for a long time. I have been involved since the beginning.”
The Street Party runs from 12pm to 9pm on Saturday, September 9. The free event features food, drink and music for adults and kids.
