Mayors from seven different boroughs gathered for the service.
MORE THAN 100 people turned out for a civic service featuring the Churchill Ceremonial Mace.
Iain Duncan Smith, Conservative MP for Chingford and Woodford Green, was among the scouts, sea cadets and pearly king and queen at All Saints Church, Inmans Row, on Sunday, September 10.
Seven mayors representing Brentwood, Havering, Waltham Forest, Swale, Maldon, Thurrock and Redbridge also attended.
The mayors, wearing their ceremonial robes, processed into the church with a Guard of Honour from 241 Squadron of the Air Cadets, led by Cadet Natashya Holder.
