A convoy of travellers set up camp in the grounds of a water company’s station.
The group gained entry to Roding Well Pumping Station near Redbridge station by “breaking through a heavy fence”.
Police served the travellers with an eviction notice and they departed after four days.
A spokesman for Essex & Suffolk Water said: “A traveller encampment arrived on land at Roding Well Pumping Station on Friday September 15.
“As the responsible owner of this land we have not given permission for this encampment, and with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police a peaceful eviction took place on Tuesday September 19.”
