Aspiring poets and writers will have their work read live on radio by Leyton Orient players if they are lucky enough to win a competition.

Youngsters aged 12 to 17 years in Waltham Forest are being encouraged to enter the Write-2-A-Life poetry and short story competition to be in with a chance of being published authors.

The aim of the competition is to enable young people to create “something memorable for self and charity".

Proceeds from the books containing winning entries will go to Diabetes UK, the chosen charity of Mayor of Waltham Forest Cllr Yemi Osho.

Poems of up to 25 lines and short stories of up to 1,500 words are eligible for the competition organised by Wayne Walton of Forest Radio.

Writers should base their work on the themes of hope, health and life.

The deadline for the Write2-A-Life competition is October 28 2017 and entries should be emailed to wayne@forestradio.co.uk
