A POPULAR pub which recently shut down at short notice has reopened.
The Nightingale, in Nightingale Lane, Wanstead, threw open its doors to punters once again on Friday, October 6.
The pub announced it had been forced to close on Monday, September 25, citing health reasons.
However, Noel McMahon, who has run the pub since 1987, has now reopened the boozer.
Mr McMahon, who also ran The British Queen in New Wanstead for ten years before taking over The Nightingale 30 years ago, is one of the longest serving landlords in the area.
