PREGNANT women will soon benefit from a new form of home maternity support.
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust (BHRUT) is offering patients registered to receive care at Queen’s Hospital home visits and evening appointments.
The Hilltop Team, a new midwifery unit, will deliver the 24 hour service right through from antenatal to delivery and postnatal stages.
Anna Peacock, maternity matron and Hilltop Team line manager said: “Giving women access to antenatal and postnatal support at a time that is more convenient to them is at the centre of this project.
“Every woman is different and this type of care programme is focused on the woman, her baby and her family, and the decisions that they want to make.”
The team is composed of six midwives and a maternity care assistant.
