ASPIRING hospitality workers received a boost after London City Airport stumped up funding for a free employment and training course.
The course, delivered by JD Trading Ltd and in partnership with Work Redbridge, develops skills needed to succeed in the industry.
Candidates will receive a level two food hygiene certificate, food and bar licencing training and employability skills training.
Councillor Bob Littlewood, cabinet member for employment, skills and fairness said: “It’s fantastic for London City Airport to fund this course.
“It will help many of our residents who are looking for a helping hand into employment.
“The skills learnt throughout the week have put our residents in the best possible position to start an exciting career with the airport.”
The first batch of learners recruited at the council’s September jobs and apprenticeships fair recently completed their one week course.
