HALLOWEEN fans have been urged to cultivate “their inner Batman” for a sponsored charity walk.

Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green are encouraging adults and children to take part in their annual “Pumpkin Plod” and dress up as pumpkins and bats for 2k or 5k walks.

Katie Tyler, events fundraising manager at Haven House said: “This year’s fancy dress theme is pumpkins and bats. If orange is your colour, go pumpkins all the way, or don your wings and embrace your inner Batman.

“Our Pumpkin Plod is the perfect family friendly Halloween activity and a brilliant way to support local life-limited children and their families.

“We are asking participants to aim to raise £50 per family in sponsorship as the registration fee only covers the cost of running the event so we do rely on sponsorship to help support our vital work.”

Participants can start at either 11am or 2.30pm. The 2k walk will be on the hospice’s grounds and the 5k route will take walkers through Epping Forest.

The fundraiser takes place on Sunday, October 29.

Tickets for children under 12 are £5. Adults pay £10 and a family of four ticket is £25. Entry fee includes a pumpkin, activity sheet and sweet treats.
