A TEACHER is in with a chance of winning a national award for her exceptional contribution to the profession.
Edna Reilly, who lives in Woodford, has been shortlisted for the gold British Classroom Heroes Award 2017 after clinching a silver award earlier this year.
Mrs Reilly, who teaches at The Ursuline Academy in Ilford, won the award for Teacher of the Year at a Secondary School after being nominated for parents, pupils and colleagues.
She has taught at Ursuline for 12 years.
The ceremony takes place on Sunday, October 22. It will be broadcast on BBC2 at 6pm on Sunday, October 29.
