Crowds turn out to see fireworks and support Back The Bid campaign for borough of culture
Crowds gathered outside Walthamstow Town Hall on Sunday, November 5, to watch a spectacular fireworks display.
The event which featured food stalls and a bar area was an opportunity for people to raise the profile of the #BackTheBid campaign to make Waltham Forest the first London Borough of Culture.
Thousands of residents have pledged their support for the bid.
The competition launched by the Mayor of London will see the chosen borough given support to deliver cultural projects.
The winner will be announced in 2019.
