FITNESS fans can put a festive spin on their training regimes by dressing up as elves and running through “beautiful scenery” for charity.

Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green is inviting young and old to have fun and get fit in its Chasing Elves 10k at Hainault Forest Country Park.

Festive fundraisers can choose to walk, run or jog through the timed course and will receive an elf hat, medal and refreshments.

Katie Tyler, events fundraising manager at Haven House said: “Starting and finishing at Hainault Forest Country Park, Chasing Elves promises to be an exciting Christmas themed challenge that is open to all, from beginners to experienced runners.

“Whether it's your first-ever race or you're aiming for a final personal best of 2017, grab an elf hat and your trainers, and help raise funds for local life-limited children and their families.

“The route is multi-terrain through the forest, with some uneven ground. It is a mainly flat course with a few slopes and plenty of beautiful scenery.”

Entrants must be 15-years-old and above to take part.

The registration fee is £15, which covers the cost of the event. Participants are encouraged to raise £50 worth of sponsorship each.

The event starts at 10am on Sunday, December 10, in partnership with The Only Way is Crossfit and SV Sports Therapy.
