Dozens of people turned out for a recent Restart Party to have their faulty electrical items repaired free of charge.
The event in Ss Peter and Paul Church in The Green, Chingford was organised by Recycle for London and The Restart Project.
A series of similar events are being held across London to encourage people to reduce electrical waste and see if an item can be repaired before buying a new one.
The UK is the world’s fifth highest producer of e-waste, with each person racking up a whopping 23.5kg on average each year.
This produces a combined total large enough to fill Wembley Stadium six times over.
