A man who has spent years studying the ecosystem around a reservoir is preparing to release his latest book.
Broadcaster, researcher and author Dr Jim Lewis will be signing copies of From Ice Age to Wetlands: The Lee Valley’s Return to Nature this weekend.
The book explores the history, landscape and industrial heritage of the Lower Lee Valley, from pre-history to the present day.
It was produced to mark the opening of the Walthamstow Wetlands nature reserve.
To encourage people to visit the Wetlands Dr Lewis has devoted a chapter in the book to 29 nature reserves within the boundaries of the Lee Valley Regional Park.
Dr Lewis has written 12 books focusing on major events that helped shape the Valley.
The signing will take place on Saturday November 18 at noon in Waterstones in The Mall in Walthamstow Town Square.
