A former apprentice who secured a job in recruitment has been recognised for her work at an award ceremony.
Mehreen Ayub from Leyton, won the retail, hospitality and tourism apprentice of the year at the Asian Apprenticeship Awards 2017.
The 18-year-old was an apprentice with Admiral Recruitment for more than one year and spent time working across several departments and now works as a junior consultant for the firm.
The Asian Apprenticeship Awards recognise and celebrate the superb level of talent within the British Asian community.
This year’s ceremony attracted 200 entries and the winners were announced at a gala dinner on November 2 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.
Admiral chief executive, Paula Rogers, said: “We are incredibly proud of Mehreen as she is a superb example of how we take raw talent, and with the right support, mentoring and development, we ensure that they are put on the right career path.
“To have been chosen from so many entrants is a great achievement for Mehreen and a fantastic tribute to everyone at Admiral Recruitment who has helped her.
“She is a shining example of a young apprentice who is eager to learn and happy to share her knowledge with others.”
