MORE THAN 150,000 people in Redbridge are either overweight or obese.
According to the Annual Public Health Report 2016/17, 154,456 people in the borough are classified as one of the two.
The report identified unhealthy habits that could shorten people’s lifespans.
A total of 122,731 people eat fewer than the recommended five pieces of fruit and vegetables a day. More than 30,000 smoke in the borough while just under 65,000 are deemed physically inactive.
The ring-fenced public health grant for 2016/17 was £14.464 million.
