BROWNIES and girl guides grilled their local MP about the workings of parliament.

Members of the 2nd Woodford Brownies and 18th Woodford Girl Guide invited Iain Duncan Smith MP to their weekly meeting for UK Parliament week.

The Conservative MP for Chingford and Woodford Green encouraged young politicos to vote and educated them about the role of MPs.

Charlotte Foot of the 2nd Woodford Brownies said: “I really enjoyed meeting Iain Duncan Smith.  It was great that we could ask him any questions that we wanted.  The meeting was really interesting”.

Questions were asked about changes to the GCSE curriculum and grading system, why Mr Duncan Smith entered parliament and achieveing equal pay for men and women.

UK Parliament have run the week-long event to get more young people interested in politics.
