DECEASED hospital trust staff have been honoured with memorial stones.
Four people associated with the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust (BHRUT) were commemorated at a ceremony at Queen’s Hospital.
Ken Jones, a porter, Sue Breen-Bloom, a nurse and Lauren Corver, a medical admin, gave a combined 60 years’ service to the trust.
Derek, Lauren’s father, brother Carl and sister Michelle Constable attended the ceremony.
Derek said: “She was completely dedicated to the hospital and made so many friends so it’s nice that she’ll be remembered here.
“I’m a very proud father. She was a very devoted girl and so many people thought so much of her, we all did, and it’s nice to know that and see it here today.”
The final stone was dedicated to John Couch as a thank you to his widow Yvonne, a volunteer who maintains Queen’s Hospital’s lavender garden.
The stones were dedicated following a donation to the King George and Queen’s Hospital Charity.
