CCTV images have been released of a man police are hunting after a woman was pushed down a flight of stairs at a station.

British Transport Police (BTP) said the woman was attacked at Wood Street station on the evening of Saturday, November 25.

At around 11.25pm, the victim and her female friend caught the train from Walthamstow Central to Wood Street.

During the journey, they were approached by a man, who asked them if they would like to “party”. The women declined the invitation.

Once they arrived at Wood Street, the man then came up behind the pair as they were walking down a flight of stairs, pushing the victim to the ground.

She sustained facial injuries, including a lost tooth, and required treatment at hospital.

Officers investigating the attack now want to speak to the man pictured in CCTV image released on Thursday (December 21).
