A HEADBOY has won himself a place at a prestigious Ivy League university.
Chigwell School student Tomasz Cienkowsk has been accepted by Yale University in the United States.
Less than 15 per cent of applicants were offered places to the Connecticut institution this year, where Mr Cienkowsk will follow the traditional Ivy League liberal arts curriculum of natural and social sciences as well as humanities if he accepts the place.
The upper-sixth student already has an offer to study Economics and Management at St Hugh’s College, Oxford and has an application to Harvard pending.
Michael Punt, Chigwell headmaster, said: “We are very proud of Tomasz.
"A growing number of Chigwell students are applying to study at universities abroad and we are pleased that they taking a global view of their education beyond school.”
