Supporters of a respite care charity came together to collect thousands of pounds during an annual fundraising day.
The Friends of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge organised their yearly Bridger Day last Friday in support of the centre and its guests.
The event, now in its nineteenth year, saw visitors take part in activates including a bridge tournament and a raffle. Stalls were also on hand selling handmade refreshments and books.
In total, the Bridger Day raised £2,000 for Jubilee Lodge, which provides respite holidays for disabled people and their careers at its Chigwell site.
This year, money will be used to carry out landscaping work at the centre’s garden.
Chairman of the Friends of Jubilee Lodge, Ros Dover said. “I’m delighted to say that The Friends of Jubilee Lodge held a very successful Bridger Day.
“I am so indebted to the local Bridge players who support us year after year, this being our nineteenth event, and to our helpers who make the day so successful.
“Every event the “Friends” organise throughout the year is for the benefit of Jubilee Lodge and the guests and carers it welcomes, so it is such a lovely feeling to see exactly where our support is making a difference within the local community.”
