A DRUGS suspect driving with a child in his car rammed a police vehicle in a desperate bid to evade capture.
Officers patrolling Hermitage Estate in Wanstead on Saturday evening (January 13) spotted the man driving a blue Hyundai, with a child in one of the passenger seats.
Detectives tried to stop their car in front of the suspect but he drove at them, making contact with the right rear hand side.
He then made off at speed in the vehicle.
The suspect, who police said is known to them, then abandoned the car, which officers recovered shortly after.
The vehicle was seized and seven bags of cannabis were discovered on board.
It is understood the car was stolen.
No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.
